Knitter's Pride Winder

While at Jimmy Beans Wool for our crochet retreat, I treated myself to a Knitter's Pride Signature Mega Wool Winder. It can wind up to 450 grams = 15.8 oz balls. Red Heart Super Saver is 7 oz to put this in perspective for sizing.

There are two versions from the natural birch wood but I am obsessed with the coloured version which is a bit more but for me, worth it. There is a fine quality bearing used for smooth wrapping. Both of the winder versions hold the same amount of yarn.

For me, the winder is a regular item in my home and the colouring is part of my craft decor. It has a weighted balance point so the spool can rotate without a wobble to the entire item.

There are rubber pads under the winder to prevent the scratching of a table.

You can find more inexpensive winders at Jimmy Beans Wool as well. You have to decide for yourself which suits your own budget, usage and how you want your craft room to look.

I do believe that a yarn winder should be a part of a crocheter's tool kit. In fact, it's part of the Gifts for Crocheters Suggestions I have.

Please note, there is no affiliate link for my recommendation. It's a suggestion I have that is based on my personal feelings and not motivated by commissions.
